Amogy: Ammonia as energy

Amogy is on a mission to build technology that unlocks ammonia’s potential as a clean energy source, accelerating the global journey to Net Zero and sustaining future generations. Founded in 2020 by four MIT PhD alumni, Amogy aims to enable the decarbonization of the hard-to-abate sectors, such as shipping, power generation, and heavy-duty transportation, with its ammonia-based, carbon-free, high energy-density power solution.

Amogy Powerpack is a modular system, enabling integration of supplementary modules to deliver more sizable Powerpacks. To date, its ammonia-to-power system has been demonstrated with success in a 5kW drone, 100kW tractor, and 300kW semi-truck, and our team is currently retrofitting a 1MW tugboat, the NH3 Kraken, to be the world’s first ammonia-powered vessel. Amogy is also renovating a manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas where it will launch its commercialization efforts.
