ISpA – Indian Space Association

The Indian Space Association (ISpA) is the premier industry body representing the collective voice of the Indian space sector. Established to foster collaboration between the government and private industry, ISpA is dedicated to the successful development of India’s private space industry.

Vision and Objectives:

ISpA’s vision is to work with all stakeholders to create an enabling environment that strengthens the private sector in India’s space domain, propelling the nation to the forefront of the global space ecosystem. This vision aligns with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s initiative of ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India).

  • Policy Advocacy: Engaging with the Indian government, regulatory bodies, and international organizations to formulate effective policies and regulatory frameworks that facilitate ease of doing business and ensure policy stability.
  • Promotion of Space Activities: Encouraging and facilitating activities across various space domains, including satellite communications, navigation, earth observation, and space exploration.
  • Capacity Building: Empowering members, associate organizations, academia, entrepreneurs, and startups by facilitating the exchange of knowledge, information, and technology within the Indian space ecosystem.

  • Collaborations: Signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with organizations such as the Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO), Centre for Air Power Studies (CAPS), and Association of Geospatial Industries (AGI) to promote collaborative development.
